Transport for Wales is recruiting a Senior Transport Planner (North Wales) to join the Consultancy & Corporate Services team.
This is a big role in a small team, that has the task of managing transport analytical tools for Wales as a whole.
You’ll take a leading role in developing our regional transport models. You’ll help us to develop, maintain and operate that model, selling it’s benefits to Welsh Government and other public sector clients.
You’ll need to think widely and proactively, using regional models to help us forecast the future needs of the transport network. Thinking about road, rail, bus and the cumulative impact of large-scale developments and how this impacts the network across Wales.
You’ll provide expert advice by conducting multimodal and strategic modelling on behalf of our clients. Of course some of this work will be completed behind a desk, but a large part of this role is making sure you build good working relationships with your key stakeholders. You’ll need these relationships to make sure you fully understand their requirements and are able to influence when necessary.
In this role you’ll be responsible for one of the three regional transport models in Wales. The modelling you’ll be managing will help to define transport across Wales. Internally you’ll be known as a Senior Transport Modeller. You’ll be working collaboratively with external suppliers to develop the model, but you’ll also be the go-to person for strategic transport modelling for local authorities and Welsh Government.
